Tutorial: which page/URL do I use?

by Derek on June 1, 2012

You can embed 3 different pages in your website. Each one has different uses and advantages over the other ones.

1. The main application,
You can set permissions and rights for each subuser individually. They need to visit your secret URL and login with their emailaddress. To use this option, embed this URL: https://sodadb.com/application.php?i=YOUR SECRET KEY

2. The website plugin (API), for example »
For your URL see : Option menu - Publish your database.
With the website plugin you can set one permission for all sub-users. After implementing the plugin in your website, the flow is: A user visits your website and gets a random ID from the application. He/she needs to remember this ID as this is his/her login for the application. A new user can start right away, a returning user can enter the ID in the input field and click the send button. To use this option, embed this URL: https://sodadb.com/api.php?i=YOUR SECRET KEY

3. The formOnly option, for example »
A user can only fill out your form, that’s it. To use this option, embed this URL: https://sodadb.com/form.php?i=YOUR SECRET KEY

Option 1 and 2 allow setting user rights, these are:

1. view/add/edit all records
2. view only own records
3. view all records
4. view/add/edit only their own records

When testing sub-user accounts please make sure to create a new session. To do this, simply log out (Option Menu – Log out)
